MEMBERSHIP/ CLASS ACCEPTANCE
By accepting a place, you are agreeing to the terms below.
General -
Prior to arrival
- To register, parents should book and complete the relevant forms via class4kids. This must be completed by a parent (includes guardians) over the age of 18 years. It is the parent’s responsibility to notify of any changes to any information.
- Club Membership Fee (£22) must be paid within August each year or on week 3 of being a new member. The Club reserves the right to refuse any membership to any applicant. All gymnasts receive a free t-shirt please advise the office of the size required.
- All persons using the venue’s car park do so at their own risk and Storm Gymnastics is not in any way responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained for loss or damage to vehicles and their contents left within the car park.
- Gymnasts who have not attended for two weeks without payment or prior notice will lose their place at the Club.
Arrival to venue
- The club takes no responsibility for any accident or injury to any persons while waiting to enter the class venue. Nor we take any responsibility for any loss or damage to belongings. All members are advised not to bring valuables to class.
- Parents are fully responsible for members until the class begins. The class begins when the class register has been completed and parents advised they should leave the hall/building.
During class time
- Gymnasts should store all belongings safely in the area provided.
- Parents are NOT ALLOWED in the gym due to Child Protection Rules.
- No admittance is allowed into the gym until your allocated time and no one is permitted to go on any equipment until advised to do so by a coach.
- Gymnasts should bring a drink to class but NO food is permitted unless authorisation from the Club. We are a NUT FREE ZONE
- Gymnasts must not wear shoes or any footwear to take part in class.
- If for any reason a coach feels a gymnast is unsuitably dressed for gymnastics ie unsuitable clothing, jewellery, long hair not tied back, they will be refused participation in the class. No refunds given at any time. Where possible club Uniform should be worn.
- By attending a class you confirm your child is fit and healthy to participate in gymnastics. Gymnasts must not attend class if they are unwell or have been sick within 48 hours. Any gymnast with a medical condition, allergy or illness, the club details must be fully notified in the registration form and kept up to date of any changes. It is a parents responsibility to ensure a gymnast has the necessary medication or equipment needed to safely participate ie inhaler, diabetic equipment etc. Coaches are not allowed to assist any member with the use of the said equipment or administer any medication, unless in an emergency. If gymnasts need specialised assistance outwith coach’s first aid training, Parents must remain in the building.
- Mobile telephone use is prohibited in the gym during class times.
- No jewellery, watches, piercings to be worn in the gym
- Any items left on the premises will be put in lost property, these will be cleared 3very 2 months.
- Warm up is very important, try to be on time. If you are more than 15 minutes late you may not be allowed to join in the session
- Please be aware that if your child is unable to visit the toilet by themself, you may be required to remain on the premises. Gymnasts will be escorted to the toilet by a coach (following our child protection policy). Gymnasts should visit the toilet BEFORE class, if gymnasts continue to disrupt classes by frequently visiting the toilet, parents will be asked to remain in the building to assist.
- Bad behaviour will not be tolerated. Gymnasts will be given a warning at class on the first instance, on the second instance parent spoken to and on the third instance asked to leave the club. No refunds given at any time. Gymnasts must adhere to the clubs policies including bullying and any behaviour deemed unacceptable then gymnasts will be asked to leave (depending on severity this can be without a warning)
- No alcohol is to be brought into the gym or consumed prior to a gymnast’s gym class.
- Whilst every attempt is made to make our classes as safe as possible, the nature or sporting activity (including games and gymnastics) means accidents can happen. We cannot therefore accept any responsibility for accident or injury to any person which may occur at any time before, during or after a class. Coaches will do their upmost to ensure all participants are kept safe however parent/guardians will accept full responsibility (whether attending class with their child or leaving them at one of our classes).
- All gymnasts must be dropped off and collected from the gymnastics hall and not from the car park. Only gymnasts whose parents have agreed they can leave unattended after a class will be allowed to leave unaccompanied. Parents must advise of anyone who should NEVER be allowed to collect gymnasts at the end of class as collection is not monitored and it is a parent’s full responsibility to be there on time and collect their child at the end of class finishing time. We do not accept any liability for any gymnast after the Class finishing time.
- Parents and guardians are not allowed in the gym for the safety of the gymnasts; however on occasion they can be invited into the class for events or to speak with class coaches.
- It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to your child’s health and to keep us updated including changes of address and contact numbers or medical conditions.
- Gymnast’s fees are due on the first session of every month and must be paid by this date. Failure to pay on ‘pay day’ can result in a gymnast’s place being removed.
- In accepting a place for your child you are committed to a full month fees. We do not offer refunds, make up or additional classes which you have missed. If you choose to leave us before the end of the month we will not refund fees.
- If you need to speak to a coach and the matter is Not Urgent, please send an email to the club. If you have an urgent matter you can speak to a coach at any time.
Membership
- All gymnasts, on week 3 of attending, must be registered with our Governing Body, Scottish Gymnastics (SG). This registration is for gymnasts to be insured to take part in gymnastics. It also comes with a host of benefits which can be found on their webpage.
- Please visit the Scottish Gymnastics webpage and follow instructions of either JOIN (new members) or RENEW (existing members). Insurance runs every September to August each year. Payment is made to SG direct to pay the relevant fee (£18 preschool and £24 recreational). Competition Gymnasts must pay the relevant membership fee issued by SG to enable them to take part in Competitions please speak to a competition coach to advise which level cover is needed.
During class time
- Parents must arrive on time to collect gymnast. Collection is from the gym hall. In all circumstances, the Club will allow all gymnasts to leave with the adult presented to collect the gymnast at the class finishing time. A late fee of £10 will be applied every time a parent is late (after the second occasion)
PRIVACY
- Video or photographic use is not permitted in the gym area by parents or gymnasts unless authorised by the club. Any gymnasts providing footage without the clubs written permission will be asked to leave the club.
- The Club has the right to exclude anyone not adhering to our policies.
- You will be asked to provide personal information about you and any children which you are registering with Storm Gymnastics. Any information requested is provided to provide a safe environment and duty of care to the child. Information provided should provide relevant contact details incase of an emergency. All medical information relating to the child must be provided so appropriate care can be provided. Should you decide to leave us, data will be removed on an annual basis (every August). The name of the child may still appear on our billing system as a reference. The main communication will be via email, text or social media (specific class info on our parents page)
CLASS CANCELLATION
If any classes need to be cancelled for any reason, every attempt will be made to arrange alternative class(es) at a later date throughout the term although this is not guaranteed. No refunds are given at any time.
BEHAVIOUR
- The Club has a zero tolerance approach to unacceptable verbal and physical behaviour directed towards staff and coaches.
- Any unacceptable behaviour will be taken very seriously and may result in the immediate expulsion from the club and permanent exclusion.
- The club has the right to exclude anyone not adhering to our policies. We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at its discretion and without notice. These Terms and Conditions supersede all former ones. Use of Storm Gymnastics will constitute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Gymnasts Code of Conduct

Respect all club staff, coaches and fellow gymnasts. Be polite and courteous at all times. As a representative of Storm Gymnastics, you must display professional and respectful conduct at all times. Rudeness, insulting, threatening or racist behaviour, shouting, swearing, exclusion, physical or mental abuse will not be tolerated.
Parent Code of Conduct

Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their chosen sport. Never punish or belittle your child for poor performance or making mistakes. Use correct and appropriate language at all times. Publicly accept official judgements, we discourage challenging or arguing with club coaches and officials. Endeavour to establish good communications with the club, coaches and officials for the benefit of all. Your child is your responsibility prior to the start of a class. Please do not leave them before their class begins. Always collect your child promptly at the end of the sessions.
Social Media Policy for Gymnasts, Coaches, Officials, Volunteers, Helpers
The use of social media, chat rooms, text messaging and emails is now a normal part of life for many people and businesses.
To protect and safeguard our members and promote a positive image, we are committed to the safe, professional and legal use of social media.
The purpose of this policy is to;
Ensure that the relationship between coaches / officials / volunteers / helpers and gymnasts remain professional at all times.
Protect gymnasts, coaches, parents and all persons associated with our club from allegations of inappropriate conduct and ensure they have clear guidelines for the use of social media and other communication methods.
Failure to adhere to this Social Media Policy will result in a disciplinary referral to the safeguarding officer and may lead to exclusion from the Club with cancellation of membership.
All members including parents/carers/guardians, Children/Young People (including under 18 years old);
Must Not post any remarks, photographs, or videos that are derogatory or inappropriate or could be disparaging or embarrassing to the Academy, its coaches, volunteers, members or other gymnastics club on any social media facility.
Not ask a coach, official, volunteer or helper to be your friend on a social networking site. They are in a position of trust and will be in breach of Club Guidelines and Code of Conduct if they accept the request.
Always remember that anything that is said or shared via social media, chat rooms, text messages, emails or other electronic communication including photographs, pictures and videos may be shared with people other than those whom it was intended for. Once something is posted / sent it is no longer in you control.
Never post or send photographs, comments or videos which may be hurtful, untrue or upsetting and you may regret sharing later on.
Not put pictures or names of other Academy members on personal sites which directly or indirectly mention Storm gymnastics.
Never place a comment on the internet or via any other electronic communication that you would not say face to face to the individual concerned. To do so, you may not only be in breach of our Academy and Scottish Gymnastics Policy but also the law.
Adhere to this Social Media Policy and that of Scottish Gymnastics and British Gymnastics.
Coaches / Officials / Volunteers / Helpers are in a position of trust and responsibility and have attending a safeguarding course via Scottish gymnastics to ensure they Fully Adhere to this Social Media Policy and that of Scottish Gymnastics and British Gymnastics.
